Background

Chatkhil:

Chatkhil is the smallest upazila in Noakhali according to area measure.It was established as an Upazila in 01 August, 1983. And Chatkhil Pouro Shova started its activity in 1st january, 1995. 

History:

From People's saying it is believed that in past, there was a canal in this region. Local residents were threatened due to the CHAT pest in this canal. Time to time, people started to build residence here and thus CHATKHIL is named.
