Chatkhil in Liberation war

Chatkhil people has made a tremedous contribution during liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. There are 4 recognized Bir Bikram and 6 recognized Bir Pratik in chathkil. Besides, almost 755 freedom figheters fought for motherland in 1971.

After the abeyance of National council in 1st March, 1971, Chatkhil also roared like all other parts of the country. And after the speech given by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shekh Mujibur Rahman on 7th march, preparation for freedom fighting started in chatkhil. Local Awami League leaders formed "Sangram Committee".

On 26th March afternoon, 1971, local awami league leaders sat for a meeting regarding the participation in liberation war. And thus chatkhil contributed in liberation war and our victory to independence.
